The X Factor

Chaney stuck to the velcro wall.  Quite possibly the most awesome carnival attraction ever...

So here's the last piece of what I've been up to and the main way that I've been taking time to take care of myself.

For the past month, I've had a fairly nice looking guy coming into my living room at 5 am each morning.  He tells me what workouts to do, that I'm doing a great job, and to "bring it".  Anyone know who I'm talking about?  No, not Steve... he makes appearances in the living room but it's more to see what I'm up to. :)

Yep, I've been doing P90x.  I begin my 5th week tomorrow so I figure I'm good to blog about it now since I'm past the habit forming stage.  This has been one of things that I've been dying to talk about but I needed these first weeks to make the change for me and no one else.  Plus, you would have heard A LOT of moaning and complaining about how unbelievably sore I have been.

I have almost toppled over on more than one occasion at work, on the softball field, going down stairs, getting in and out of my car...

I've also been tired but it's a good tired.  Working out 6 days a week for at least an hour a day is the best sleeping pill in the world.  I haven't had insomnia in over a month.  The plus, I feel better.  The downside, I used to sew when I couldn't sleep.

Steve and Chaney have been super supportive.  Chaney thinks that it's all yoga and she's partially right.  There is one yoga workout that is 90 minutes long.  I used to laugh at yoga thinking that it's just some stretching and meditating.  Wow.  I was so wrong.  I'm pretty athletic but out of all the workouts, yoga is the one that kills me each and every time.  So if you practice yoga on a regular basis, my hat's off to you because it's no joke!

I'm pretty sure the funnel cake won...

This has been a fun change for me, Steve and Chaney.  Other than the State Fair... they have embraced the change in our meals and that has been awesome.  And of course, Steve has lost weight by just changing his diet.  Of course, not killing himself every morning like me yet he's seeing great results too.  Men...!

PS: please be rest assured, you won't be seeing pics of me in a bikini on here showing my before and after results.  I'm That Girl but not that girl. ;)

Well done on forming a new habit and I'm so glad it's helping you feel better, take care x

Congrats!!! It really is a wonderful feeling taking some time for oneself. Though you are right-- it does cut into the sewing time! :) I started running and being very diet conscious over the summer, and the results, both mental and physical, are so worth it. Keep up the great work!

Congratulations! I have been working out regularly and watching what I eat this year and it has been great for me, too. That PX90 would probably kill me. You are one tough cookie...er...rice cake.

Haha. That was funny. I have been on weight watchers, and so has Mark. So here's a question: why does he get to eat twice as much as I do, and STILL loses twice as much weight. Slow female metabolism...I have thought about P90X. Maybe...or maybe this will be another instance of me living vicariously through you. Yep. That's probably what it is...

So glad that the exercise is something you are committed to doing. I am an exercise quitter so congrats girl - you are awesome.

Exercise is one thing I plan on doing regularly as soon as I deliver this baby! I haven't felt healthy and fit in a long time. I'm glad you are having such success!

Everyone in my family minus the men and I have gone vegan... they look and feel great but sheesh, I love me some scrambled eggs with cheese and sausage!

damn...I wanted to see the before and afters!
You are tempting me really bad to try the P90X...but I'm so scared!! I've heard it's pure torture and i know me...I never stick to anything, but I really need to lose weight and tone up. I want muscles! Will this work?? Oh and hey...it says you need a pull up bar...how do I do that if I have no bar and nowhere to put it? Is there a way around that? Thanks for any info...you just may convince me to give it a try...just maybe....

I have no idea what a P90X is, but well done anyway! (I'm guessing it's like that Wii thing - you can see I'm super hip and up with it all). Nothing beats feeling healthy, body and mind. I agree that men have the luck - my hubby eats like a horse and looks as lean as the day I met him. I have to watch what I put in my mouth or everything goes all jiggly! Congrats again and keep up the good work!

Hats off! P90X is brutal! I've tried some sessions of it with my daughter and it nearly did me in. I applaud your commitment!

P90X rules. It hurts, but it rules. Good for you!

Hmm, never heard of p90x before but my body needs a serious attitude adjustment! So maybe I'll be looking into that! Now if they just sold "committment" in a pkg, I'd be all over that too!

Congratulations - good on you!

Good for you!!!!! I've let go of my exercise routine and have been suffering for it. It was the first to go with my newest time crunch, grad school. You're right, though, it's worth all the effort. Maybe I'll get off my butt and get started again soon. :)
