Where is the time?

A common theme I see around the blogs that I frequent is having more time now that the kids are back in school.  I wish that was true for me.  I don't see how ya'll do it!

School is off to a fabulous start but we are SO busy.  I think I failed to mention earlier that softball started on the first day of school as well.  I'm coaching once again and softball in the fall is probably one of my very favorite things.  It was 110 degrees on our first day of practice.  By our fourth practice it was still 100+ but amazingly enough, it didn't feel that bad... it really is true that your body can adapt.

But then this long weekend came and with it came lows in the high 50's and highs only in the 80's.  We've had the windows open whenever we are home; even sleeping with our bedroom windows open at night... another one of my favorite things after a long, hot summer.

I have been sewing and I'll be back tomorrow to share a few things that I've been working on.  I've missed ya'll!

Now I'm off to catch up on what everyone else has been up to...

I have to agree. Things around here get busier during the school year. I feel pulled in a million directions!

Is that your daughter in the picture? When I played softball in school & in bobby sox softball league, that was my position! I had a killer throw down to second base that we'd do every time we took the field - scared the other teams so much that they rarely tried to steal on me! LOL Little did they know that I couldn't throw to first & third - they were too close! Heeheehee! On my last bobby sox game, I bobbled a pitch down the first base line, actually over-balanced & did a somersault right on that freshly chalked line...but I came up with the ball in my hand, ready to throw because that runner on first base must be nearing 2nd by now. Nope. Scared. She was still standing on the bag! (My sister was there & said it looked like I did it all on purpose!)

We're in the thick of baseball, here, so I feel your pain. We had something every night last week and all but one night this week.

I also love sleeping with the windows open. The crickets and frogs are so relaxing. I swear I sleep better (and we've had our windows open the past two nights, too!). So wonderful.

I was just going to email and see if you were okay!! But then I figured you were busy with Chaney and school, etc. I haven't been on the computer as much either lately. So I was really happy to see you pop up on my blogroll.

So...it's finally cooling down where you are and heating up where I am: supposed to be 103 today. *sigh* Come on! It's September!

I know! My time never seems to multiply in the fall either. :-( But I for one am ready to bid farewell to these 100+ temps and usher in a true fall. I feel ready to cook soup and do hand sewing, but with these crazy temperatures it still feels like the dead of summer. And you are a better sport than I am. I was pretty grouchy at baseball practice this week. Being hot makes me feel....crabby. Ha!

Since I teach, it gets crazier once fall starts for me! I am ready for some cooler temperatures, too!
