What to do...

...with a new piece of embroidery? {please ignore the wrinkles!}

Have I mentioned how much I love embroidery??  It's true.  And I especially love Jenny Hart's designs.  They are a little on the edgy side... no bunny rabbits or teddy bears here!

But what should I do with it once it's finished?  I know there's always framing it in a hoop but I'm looking for some other creative ways to show off my stitches.

The fabric is a 16"x16" piece of Kona snow and I would love your suggestions.  What would you do??

Put it into a quilt! That seems to be all the rage right now. That is so cute and edgy. I love it.

Make it the centerpiece of a small quilt...maybe even a wall hanging. It would be beautiful framed with black and red fabrics. Love it!

16x16 is the perfect size for a pillow, or to incorporate into a quilt!

"this ain't your gramma's embroidery." "no geese in bonnets." I love it!!

I do alot of embroidery - belong to several stitch groups. Put it in a quilt, (for a smaller piece) use it in a mug rug, or use it as the side fabric on a tote bag! Have fun!

I also just finished a piece of embroidery and I'm not sure what to do with it...but I am thinking about making a sewing machine cover and may use it as the center piece front.

Excellent work! I think it would make a neat ring bearer pillow for a wedding beings it has the 'love' theme. I tend to like to do things the 'non-traditional' way myself ;)

These may not be original ideas but you could make a pillow out of it, put it in a quilt, put it on a handbag, put it on an apron (nothing says love like home cooking). It looks beautiful. Keep stitchin'.

Don't you love those gold frames?
Make yourself a lovely embroidered picture with:
" I'm the queen of f....... everything"
Or is that too rude?
I don't mean to be rude ...
O just have a laugh, and another one!

Make a pocket to hang on the wall, and put something precious in it. Make a bunch of them, like a pocket shoe holder, and use it to sort and hold fabric scraps.

I always put a little embroidery on my quilt labels. Of course, mine isn't as fancy as yours! But, it would get looked at often and well used/appreciated if it were part of a quilt...either on a label for the back or even as a center square for a quilt top.

You could leave it in a wooden hoop and hang it on the wall until you decide. :-) It's sure cute enough to be art.

I share your fancy for embroidery. As much as I love sitting at my machine and quilting, there is something so satisfying and relaxing about hand work!
