Fruit & Pyrex

I've started picking up a few Pyrex pieces here and there.  I love all the colors!  For me, it's not as much about having a matching set as it is about having colorful and useful pieces.

Steve gave me a bit of grief over "collecting" something.  I promised that these pieces would be useful and today I would like to share the proof. ;)

Peaches...

Blueberries...  Later turned into blueberry pancakes for Steve's Father's Day breakfast...

We went to our local farmer's market on Saturday and oh my, we came home with some great stuff.  Blackberries... new potatoes... peaches... blueberries... and my favorite yellow squash.

I made squash casserole yesterday from this Paula Deen recipe and it was a-mazing!  Guess what I'm having for lunch today...??

Those are great finds - very colorful! Have you been able to find glass lids for those pieces? I would love to get lids for mine so I can stack them in the fridge - making them even more useful!

It cracks me up every time I see a blog post about pyrex. I find it funny that people collect the dishes that my mom has been using for years and still does.

I'm with Carol T. It is so funny to see that all you young "girls" out there are collecting the stuff we (us grannies out here) either grew up with or got as wedding presents!!!!! I do agree that the colors are great, though!

I always think when you collect Pyrex, you collect some of the good food vibes along with them! Your clear glass lidded refrigerator dishes are just like my Mom's, and the white with aqua casserole matches a round casserole my grandma had. Good stuff! I have started collecting them again, and my younger daughter has been collecting too. Enjoy!

Love pyrex! I own the mixing bowl set (pic #1) and use them constantly..have purchased a set for my daughter in law and am on the look out now for another set (at a good price) for my daughter. I owned some of the red bird dishes like in the 6th picture...sold them at a garage sale years ago...dummy me!!

I found a big Pyrex bowl on the side of the freeway just outside of San Diego over 30 years ago...and to this day it is still the bowl that gets used almost every day!
Just had to share 'my' Pyrex story!

I think it's a lovely collection. I have some pieces that were wedding presents (34 years ago)and some that I bought along the way; and one that was my paternal grandmother's!

Gotta jump on the Pyrex bandwagon here! I love it! I have my mothers and other pieces I've picked up over the years. I'm wanting more pink pieces. I'm also dying to try that recipe. Sounds sooooo good!!!

It is funny pyrex went out of style at one point. I love it too.

lovely! I have a bowl with the teal farm print (bottom left of your photo collage) and I love it! It houses my onions, garlic, etc. and looks so pretty on my super old (and otherwise lame) metal hutch/pantry! June is a great month for the Farmers Market.

My grandmother always used her big, yellow Pyrex bowl to make cookies. When she passed away, I asked for that and her cast iron skillet. Now when I use them I feel like I am honoring her!
