| I think Chaney is just as excited as I am... |
I love the smell of the equipment bag {as weird as that sounds} and my car has once again been transformed into a dugout on wheels. Our team name is the Spouts and this year we are a team of 7 & 8 year olds. And wow, those extra years make a difference! So far no one is making dirt castles at home plate or twirling like a ballerina on the pitchers mound. So far... ;)
So if I'm not posting nearly every day like it has been lately... you can probably find me on a softball field. And even on those off days, you are more likely to find me playing catch in the back yard with Chaney and talking about our days as we throw the ball back and forth. I love my job, I love quilting, but what I really love are times I get to spend connecting with Chaney and Steve.
Will I still be blogging, sewing, and quilting? Yep. For sure. But I'm also not going to allow myself to feel the pressure or the obligation to sew when I would rather be playing catch or even reading a book because I'm exhausted after a long day at work followed by practice.
So when I start complaining about how stressed I am {it's most likely because I'm trying to do too much} please remind me of this post. And when I'm ready for the season to be over with, please remind me of this post and that the next season is always right around the corner after a nice break. :)
Go Sprouts!

Good for you for realizing waht's imprortant. Treasure it because you will blink and she will be heading off to college in the fall and you will wish for those days again. Ask me how I know. Off to hunt down some Kleenix. Even though I treasured all those moments, it went by way too fast.
Go Sprouts, Go! Good for you to be able to share your talents on the baseball field and enjoy time with Chaney. I love everything you share about quilting and I too like to take a summer break to enjoy the outdoors. Keep in touch.
My 4-year-old starts tee ball in 2 weeks. I'm NOT an athlete but I'm excited for him because he's excited. Have a great spring! See you when we see you. :)
It IS that time again, but my husband is a director at the little league where Eli is playing so I don't get to see him a lot right now- baseball season is hard on our family. On the upside my oldest is in machine pitch and he has gotten a base hit each game so far. It's super exciting to watch. Have a great season!
Go Sprouts! What a cute name for a team. My mom was my coach my first year of t-ball. She got roped into in when the original coach moved out of town. You sound much better equipped than she was, she didn't even know what a short-stop was! You can imagine how our season turned out.....
it's great that you have a job AND you are crafty AND you are an athlete! Sometimes I wonder if all of these amazing bloggers even work for a living. Where do they find the time? Glad to know that there is someone out there like me! I still play soccer on Friday nights and get crafty on the weekends. And I only blog when I feel like it! Love your blog. I live in Dallas, too!
Go Sprouts! And have fun, Mama!
Chaney will grow up way too quickly. Treasure these times, every single minute of them.
If only it were that warm here. We just got a snow storm that even shut down the University in our town. Chaney looks very cute in her outfit. Have fun.
it's soccer season here at our place! i totally know what you mean! have a wonderful time coaching!
These are the most fun times. LOVE watching this age play anything. They are truly the cure for what ails you. GO SPROUTS - HAVE FUN!!
You have your priorities in the right place! Enjoy this time. My little one is playing soccer this spring (her first sport) and I'm so excited for her. She's having a good time so far. Chaney looks like she's enjoying herself!
yay! I love softball. I played from the age of 7 to 17 and loved it. I have a 7yr. old and for some reason was thinking she's too young still. What was I thinking? That's when I started! It's hard for us though. We move so much. Moving again in Aug. and only for a year and then who knows where. Joys of Navy life!
I love thet giant smile of hers :). I used to play softball too! Hopefully someday when I have w kiddo, maybe I will get to coach too! Have tons of fun!!!
Hey batter batter batter!!! (are they still allowed to chatter??) Yay Sprouts!
I played softball from the time I was in 3rd or 4th grade until...??!
Have FUN while you're coaching!
