Happy Fabric Tuesday! I'm guest blogging over at Stash Manicure today and showing how to make this table runner.
I love patchwork and I love linen. This table runner has both and the texture is really cool. It has a utilitarian feel to it; it's made to be used. It also happens to have some nearly priceless scraps in it...
The quilting is simple, organic straight lines. Sometimes I followed the patchwork seams and other times I just echoed other quilting lines. It measures 48" x 12".
The best part? I'm giving it away!
If you are dying for an extra entry just leave me a separate comment and let me know that you are a follower. Of course I hope that you would follow me because I'm funny & creative and not just for the runner... but I won't blame you if you do ;)

I so need to try to work with linen. .this is lovely
Oh yes please. LOVE IT - just nipping over to the other blog where you are a guest, to check it out. Thank you for the chance. I haven't got the knack of quilting yet. All I can manage is stitch in the ditch - which I'm not even great at.... a skill to be learnt this year.
Regards,
Alison
And I'm a follower - just to be greedy and get that second chance. Let's face it. We all need a second chance now and again. Alison
I love this runner! I'll have to zip over and check out the tutorial. It will be a great way to practice my binding... and quilting... and piecing. :)

I'm already a follower. Your blog is on my iGoogle home page along with my other favorites so that when I wake up in the morning I can have a little sunshine with my tea.
Can you share the type of linen you use? I am working on an altar cloth for my daughter's college and will definitely have some linen left (I cut wrong even measuring multiple times).
Thanks for the lovely tutorial.
I love your color choices...and the technique!
Wonderful tutorial. Just read about it on stash manicure and popped over here to leave a comment. I have a plan to try this out with Sherbet Pips when they come out. I need a table runner for a new chest of drawers in my sewing room. The dresser is red. Thank you for a chance to win your fabulous table runner.
Awesome tutorial! Thanks for posting... I'm thinking a great way to use up some of my stash!

I've been following stash manicure for a while and everyday I check their blog and am uninspired by the fabrics. They just aren't my style but then I saw your post today. I love that fabric and I love how you did it. I need to develop the ability to do improv more often.
I found you through Stash Manicure...and am now a follower...
how beautiful! i love the linen! thanks for the giveaway!
ashleymjones@live.com
What kind of linen do you suggest using? 100% or a blend or both?:-)I love this idea and may need to go stash diving in a bit.
I can't believe you're really giving this away. I've been dying to get my fabric lovin' hands on this collection. And don't worry, unlike the crazy quilter from your "You know" post (link: http://www.thatgirlthatquilt.com/2010/08/you-know.html)
I have no plans of cutting this up. I just want to display it on my wall :)
I'd love to win that. I've been missing quilting and fabric lately. That would be nice to display on my coffee table so I can have something crafty to look at while I'm taking care of Aubrielle (who has a cold :-/ ).
I'm a follower - thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
I love the random fabric combinations that work so well, and the geometric quilting to go along. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

Hi that girl, I have been following Stash for a while now and I love this new (to me0 way to make a table runner think I will try it. I usally follow a pattern when I quilt that i twik a little but this will be an easy way to make something quickly. thanks for the idea since I am not one of the people on all these blogs with talent.
Love Love Love that runner. I have yet to make a runner for myself, as I have small kids and it just doesn't seem to make sense, BUT...yours is just so darn pretty that I want it!!!

thanks for being a part of Stash Manicure - I just love your piecing philosophy !
I popped over here from Stash Manicure to say "Thank you for the tutorial on improvisational piecing". This is a pretty runner so please enter me into your drawing.
I always love the things you make and your willingness to share them. This is no exception. Thanks for all you do and for just being you. =)
And, of course I'm a follower!
I just found your blog and feel like I have found an old friend. You are so real...nothing fake...just a gal that shares who she is and the gifts she's been given. I am excited to do the improv patchwork. I have always wanted to do this, but didn't know it had a name. And you have given me the courage to just sit down and try it. So what if it's not perfect. That is my problem...my perfectionism. I've recently just realized that I'm just shorting myself by not trying things that come into my head. I also just read the first half of your Quilting without Obligation blogs. You have touched my heart deeply. Wow, I'm kinda speechless... I am really excited I was led to your blog. I will certainly be coming back! Thank you for sharing who you were made to be with others of us.
I love it! THanks for the giveaway!
