A Crochet Break...

I recently fell in love with crochet. It is repetitive and portable. It is also very calming when I am stressed. My co-workers often find me crocheting at work during lunch which makes me wonder if they catch the drift that the goings on in our workplace might be a little out of the ordinary.

Probably not.

My "big" project is the Babette blanket (pattern by Kathy Merrick). My other project is a giant Granny Square afghan (pattern by a really old granny a long time ago). I don't know why I call one a blanket and the other an afghan. They are both large and both can be used to curl up on the couch with so really, there is no method to my classifications. :)

My first project is a Giant Granny Square. It is super repetitive but the colors are really starting to come to life. The colors are some of my favorites and I can't wait until it is finished...

The Babette blanket is in bright and rich colors made up of 6 different sized squares: 50 two-round squares, 49 four-round squares, 16 six-round squares, 7 eight-round squares, 2 ten-round squares, and 2 twelve-round squares. Yeah... a lot of squares!

So, I juggle multiple crafts and multiple projects at once. I've tried focusing on one but I get bored and my creativity becomes work. Maybe a little mad scientist-like but things rarely get boring!

You make me laugh -- reading about your projects and whether crochet counts! It's all looking so lovely. And Dear Jane -- ohmygosh! I'd love to do Dear Jane but I just can't bring myself to start on such an involved new project.

Thank you for stopping by, Thimbleanna! So now I'm counting crochet but my hubby hasn't said anything about counting knitting as another project. ;)

Thank you, Cheryl! And BTW, your picture cracks me up. I'm sure there's a great story behind it...
